An Original Multi-Media Production!
Journeys to a Dream’, through life studies, will examine the lives of children and families within two countries in Africa; Darfur (ethnic cleansing) and Sierra Leone (child soldiers. ) Students, “ambassadors of the light”, will investigate through research and artistic expression the similarities and differences in their own lives and develop an original multimedia theatrical production “Journeys to a Dream” which will reflect their findings. In addition, students will also construct community service plans for both their own communities as well as their chosen country of study. This process will take place over a six month period and will culminate in a performance during ‘Journeys of a Dream’ week presented by The Arc Theatre (Washington, D.C.) in February 2009.
